The Licensing Specialist is responsible for supporting the TPO and Licensing Supervisor to ensure the company is operating in accordance with applicable laws. Ensure EHL remains in good standing with state and federal government agencies including Secretary of State office, state regulatory agencies, CFPB, and EHL’s investors. This position reviews, monitors, and renews company, branch, and LO licenses through the NMLS, reviews federal and state legislative changes, completes annual reports and assists with the call report. This position also manages licensing requirements for city and/or county licensing.

Requirements

  • Associate level degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or 3 or more years of experience in the mortgage industry.
  • 2-4 years NMLS knowledge / mortgage experience, 1-2 years proven experience preparing and submitting licensing reports and renewals (city, county & state), required.
  • 1-2 years proven experience preparing & submitting applications and filings for business licensing and branch openings, closings and changes, required.
  • Understanding the SAFE Act and state specific licensing requirements,
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Able to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Willing to assume additional responsibilities/duties/projects as they arise

Responsibilities

  • Work with the TPO and Licensing Supervisor to identify and analyze areas of risk to the Think critically about changes in regulations that impact the business and Compliance processes and recommend changes to management to minimize risk.
  • Prepare and submit applications for EHL or general business Identify changes to filing requirements and inform management.

  • Maintain tracking system to monitor deadlines and due dates of various filings and renewals, including licensing and surety bond spreadsheets.
  • Assist in reviewing, processing, and filing of TPO applications, licensing. And system set up.
  • Conduct research to resolve issues and verify compliance with Identify and stay current on changes in industry regulations that impact work Ensure internal systems, spreadsheets and company are updated as regulations change.
  • Think critically about changes in regulations that impact business and compliance processes and recommend changes to the Compliance Manager to minimize risk.
  • Administer company’s online compliance training system including assigning new hire training, assigning training to EHL associates throughout the year, with input from Compliance Manager and VP, Compliance, and monitoring courses for completion.
  • Assist with any LOS licensing questions such as Mavent Manage year end renewals for company, branches, and LO’s.
