About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a remote Licensing Engineer Energy based out of its Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. The role supports the fuel cycle business as it helps clients design, license, construct, and operate facilities regulated under 10 CFR Part 70, including conversion, deconversion, and fuel fabrication facilities that handle special nuclear material. The work is expanding alongside the domestic fuel supply chain for advanced reactor deployment. Under the direction of senior licensing staff, the engineer prepares assigned sections of 10 CFR Part 70 license applications and the evaluations supporting them. Assigned sections may address radiation protection, waste management, emergency preparedness, decommissioning, environmental protection, and management measures. The engineer coordinates design, process, and operational inputs from clients and other contractors, documents assumptions when inputs are still developing, and progresses toward independent ownership of application content. The position also supports consistency and completeness reviews, tracks licensing commitments and their regulatory bases, maintains traceability to applicable NRC requirements and guidance, and contributes to responses to NRC requests for additional information. The engineer prepares licensing presentations and supporting materials, manages assigned work to schedules, and raises delivery issues to senior licensing staff. The role requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization.
