About The Position

We are seeking a Licensing Engineer Energy – Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office. Your role is responsible for applying engineering and nuclear regulatory knowledge and experience in support of developing power plant systems and programs in accordance with US licensing requirements. You will be part of the ARUSN Licensing group and will work preparing licensing documentation, such as topical and technical reports, Safety Analysis Reports, and applications for certifications, permits, and licenses. You will work closely with all engineering disciplines and support the development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components in an interactive manner with other engineering functional areas. You will prepare, review, maintain, and defend licensing documentation supporting a variety of nuclear designs. You will also prepare and defend position papers for areas where the existing regulatory framework does not apply, or where there is a need for new or revised regulatory requirements or guidance. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver licensing presentations to internal and external organizations and support project management for activities including development of licensing submissions. You will be eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization. You will apply knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International regulatory criteria and industry best practices. You will work to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work and initiate corrective measures to overcome delays. You will receive instruction, guidance and direction from more senior licensing engineers and complete duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of 10 CFR, along with associated regulatory and industry guidance.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with industry standards and licensing guides.
  • Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing licensing applications and submittits.
  • Experience working with designers and engineers to develop a safety analysis report (SAR).
  • Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
  • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 without specific authorization.
