About The Position

MilliporeSigma Corporation is searching for a Licensing and Business Development Director to cover the Advanced Solutions’ QC testing portfolio within the pharma and food and beverage industries. This role will have a special focus on automated QC processes and microbial/pathogen testing in pharma. The Director will be responsible for identifying and executing external partnerships aligned with portfolio strategies, sourcing and managing a broad network of partners to develop a robust pipeline of opportunities for strategic partnerships and licensing. The goal is to contribute toward annual revenue and margin targets through various deal types including co-development, licensing, distribution, co-marketing, OEM, and research collaborations. Key responsibilities include scouting partners, evaluating and negotiating deals, drafting and executing contracts, and coordinating with multiple cross-functional stakeholders such as R&D, legal, product management, regulatory, and quality. Additional business-related tasks may be assigned to support team objectives and ensure operational efficiency. Travel up to 30% of time, including international, is expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science AND 10+ years industry experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships (non-sales), BD&L with demonstrated deal closure of deals valuing >=5M USD+ 10Y NPV
OR Graduate Degree in a Scientific field AND 5+ years industry experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships (non-sales), BD&L with demonstrated deal closure of deals valuing >=5M USD+ 10Y NPV

Nice To Haves

MBA
Experience working within a matrixed environment.
Understanding of IP protections, contract negotiations, and Venture Capital.
Demonstrated experience in negotiation and knowledge of basic contract language and contract negotiation.
Financial acumen and ability to build and defend financial analyses and business cases including DCFs for equipment/instrument, consumables and digital assets.
Strong networking and intelligence gathering skills.
Ability to operate as individual contributor in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, and limited resources.
