As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide efficient, safe, and high-quality care to residents through the application of the nursing process. You will support the interdisciplinary team by supervising nursing assistants, administering treatments and medications, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all residents.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
  • Current and active LVN license in the state of California.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong commitment to quality patient care, safety, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of acute or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and oversee comprehensive nursing care, including administering medications and treatments, and assessing residents' conditions.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and actively participate in resident care as required.
  • Utilize available resources to ensure optimal care is provided.
  • Ensure that unit supplies and equipment are maintained and readily available.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Respond appropriately to both resident and facility emergencies.
  • Document care needs and interventions accurately in medical records and care plans.
  • Complete all required documentation related to assessments, care planning, physician orders, and evaluations.
  • Maintain effective communication across nursing shifts, departments, supervisors, physicians, and resident families.
  • Advocate for residents’ rights and report any signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and infection control policies.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff.
  • Provide feedback for the evaluation of nursing assistants.
  • Attend in-service education and training to support ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Accept reassignment as necessary to meet resident care needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
