About The Position

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Emergency Department ED Bring your passion to Texas Health So We Are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Dallas 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231. Work hours: Full Time/Evenings (1p-1a); 36 hrs/week. Weekend and Holiday Requirements. Emergency Department Highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work life balance. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required
6 months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program required
LVN – Licensed Vocational Nursing upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.
Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
Uses nursing models to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plans of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
