About The Position

An onsite employee health center located within the San Francisco offices of a leading financial services firm is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse with strong, current phlebotomy skills. You will support patient care, specimen collection, clinical documentation, referrals, and daily clinic operations in an organized corporate healthcare setting. This position is ideal for an LVN who values personalized patient interactions, dependable weekday hours, and the flexibility to choose between a part-time or per diem schedule. The clinic provides employees with convenient access to wellness visits, preventive services, vaccinations, health screenings, minor illness care, and follow-up coordination.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse license.
  • Current and regular hands-on phlebotomy experience.
  • Ability to perform venipuncture confidently and independently.
  • Active BLS or ACLS certification (CPR Certification).
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic, medical office, employee health center, or comparable patient-care setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical workflows.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent bedside manner.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the clinical team.
  • Reliable ability to commute to downtown San Francisco.
  • Recent venipuncture experience is an essential qualification. Candidates who have not performed blood draws recently or cannot complete them independently will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with patient scheduling, referral coordination, insurance verification, or medical front-office responsibilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and provide a professional, supportive experience.
  • Complete intake, obtain vital signs, and document initial concerns.
  • Prepare patients for evaluation by the clinical provider.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, and other specimens.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing and accurately record results.
  • Administer vaccinations and support preventive health services within the LVN scope of practice.
  • Reinforce provider instructions and help patients understand follow-up steps.
  • Coordinate referrals, appointments, and care documentation.
  • Contact insurance carriers when coverage verification is required.
  • Upload laboratory results and supporting records into the EMR.
  • Maintain organized exam rooms, supplies, and clinical work areas.
  • Follow patient privacy, infection-control, and safety procedures.
