The Phlebotomy Instructor duties include but are not limited to teaching mandated curriculums, program guidelines and regulation, and teaching students to perform basic phlebotomy techniques in compliance with appropriate state and national agencies. The Instructor will provide theory and clinical experiences needed for the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. Emphasis is placed on ethics, legalities, medical terminology, safety and universal precautions, health care delivery systems, patient relations, anatomy and physiology, and specimen collection. The Instructor will evaluate the competency of each student through laboratory/skill practice and clinical evaluations. Duties also include maintaining academic, attendance, and student records. Travel to clinical sites is required.
