About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)-PrevMed Center Health Promotion is responsible for nursing care of patients with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems. Assists and participates with the physician, registered nurse and/or medical assistant in performing procedures and patient care responsibilities skillfully. Is a professional nurse who serves as a resource, communicates effectively, reports appropriate findings, follows through in a timely manner, and maintains positive working relationships. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from a school of Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) required.
  • Minimum one year of LVN experience required.
  • Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English with professional quality.
  • Ability to use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
  • Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Ability to accept direction.
  • Ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.

  • Ability to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.
  • Ability to discern temperature variances through touch.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Intravenous (IV) certification.
