Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program (required)
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (required)
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required) or BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required)
Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injections
Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
Demonstrate sound judgment and composure
Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
Efficient time management skills

Nice To Haves

Recent LVN experience (strongly preferred)
Cardiology experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process.
Assists physician performing specific nursing care as it relates to cardiology.
Educates patient and family about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Communicates with external and internal customers, i.e., physician office, hospitals, imaging centers, etc.
Updates patient charts, provides medication reconciliation, and refills prescriptions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
