About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Heart & Vascular Specialists. The role involves delivering patient care using the LVN Process, triaging patient calls, and communicating with providers. The LVN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for cardiology patients. Responsibilities include collecting patient data, preparing patient records, administering medications, and monitoring treatment progress. The position is located at 2505 Scripture Street, Denton, TX 76210, with work hours from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Travel to surrounding clinics is required approximately 25% of the time, with mileage reimbursement provided. The clinic environment is fast-paced, multi-provider, and offers opportunities for skill development in a rewarding, educational setting.

Requirements

  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire (required)
  • Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program (required)
  • ACLS or BCLS (required upon hire)
  • Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
  • Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure
  • Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Efficient time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year LVN experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process.
  • Triage patient calls and communicates with the provider.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
  • Performs specific nursing care as it relates to specialty of cardiology.
  • Collects patient data such as vital signs, notes how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and reports this information accordingly.
  • Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Administers certain prescribed medications and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
