About The Position

This is a full-time night position for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Medical-Surgical unit at Texas Health Fort Worth. The hospital is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the Fort Worth community since 1930. It offers advanced care in cardiovascular services, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, neurosciences, sports medicine, and emergency medicine. The hospital also features certified programs in Advanced Hip and Knee Replacement, Brain Tumor Treatment, Advanced Spine Care, and Advanced Palliative Care. It is home to a kidney transplant program and supports Graduate Medical Education (GME). Requirements

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
6 Months in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 Days
NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification maintained every 2 years 90 Days

Responsibilities

Collaborates with healthcare team to support hourly rounding, patient education, and risk reduction.
Administers medications safely and performs technical procedures proficiently.
Collects and reports patient data to RN, contributing to individualized care planning.
Demonstrates critical thinking and adheres to national safety standards.
Maintains professional accountability through goal setting, advocacy, and policy compliance.
Partners with peers and support staff to enhance clinical competence and adapt to changing needs.
Engages in continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and applying evidence-based practices.
