Requirements
- A current Veterinary Technician license or credential (LVT/RVT/CVT, according to state requirements)
- Previous veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Strong veterinary technical skills
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring
- Confidence with laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Experience with radiology and sample collection
- Safe and compassionate animal handling skills
- Comfort working with both cats and dogs
- Excellent communication skills
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to multitask effectively
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy clinical environment
- A passion for animal care and commitment to patient well-being
Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patients throughout procedures and recovery
- Performing laboratory testing and other diagnostic procedures
- Obtaining diagnostic radiographs
- Collecting and preparing patient samples
- Safely and compassionately handling and restraining cats and dogs
- Preparing examination rooms and surgical suites
- Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Monitoring patients and communicating changes in their condition
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient medical records
- Educating clients about treatment plans
- Providing client education regarding preventive care and home care
- Supporting veterinarians and fellow team members throughout the day
- Performing daily cleaning and helping maintain hospital standards
- Keeping treatment and patient care areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient
