About The Position

Carver Lake Veterinary Center is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Minnesota
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
  • Client education and communication
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with exotic animals a plus!!
  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
