About The Position

Animal Medical Center of Troy is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the state of Michigan
  • Proficiency in surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Proficiency in safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in client education and communication
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
