About The Position
Licensed Veterinary Technician Leading New York City Animal Hospital has several opening for Licensed Veterinary Technicians on the following units:: Internal Medicine & Dialysis Cardiology Emergency & Critical Care Integrative & Rehabilitative Medicine Internal Medicine & Dialysis LVT Interventional Radiology Avian & Exotic Pet Medicine Diagnostic Imaging Surgery LVT Director of OR LVT Manager of Emergency and Critical Care (ECC)
Requirements
- New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician’s or permit
- One year animal handling experience and ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Interpret and execute treatment plans
- Operate and/or monitor Heska and syringe pumps, Cardell blood pressure monitors, Doppler monitors and blood gas machines
- Place jelco and sampling catheters and collect blood samples
- Update patient records and monitor patient activity
- Maintain stock and order supplies
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of the unit
- Participate in the training of new employees and volunteers
