About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their team. This role emphasizes working at the top of your license in a community-minded small animal practice that values credentialed technicians as clinical drivers of patient care. Requirements

  • Must hold a valid New York state Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license.
  • Experience in anesthesia & analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Experience in dentistry, including full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
  • Experience in diagnostics, including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Experience in nursing & triage, including critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Experience in workflow leadership, including leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Responsibilities

  • Work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Utilize skills in anesthesia & analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Perform dentistry, including full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Conduct diagnostics, including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Provide nursing & triage, including critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Lead workflow, including leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
