Rose City Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate and dedicated team. We’re also happy to consider new veterinary technician graduates whose licensure is pending successful completion of the VTNE. Requirements

  • An active LVT/RVT/CVT credential or eligibility for licensure following successful completion of the VTNE

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to patients throughout their hospital visit
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using thoughtful, low-stress techniques
  • Obtain patient histories and vital signs
  • Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
  • Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy
  • Perform laboratory testing and support diagnostic procedures
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Monitor patient vital signs and maintain accurate anesthetic records
  • Assist with dental procedures and preventive care
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
  • Educate clients about medications, treatments, preventive care, and discharge instructions
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout their pet’s care
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow support team members
  • Share your knowledge while remaining open to learning from others
  • Help create an exceptional experience for every patient and client
