About The Position

Northgate Small Animal Hospital, an AAHA-Accredited and Fear Free Certified hospital in Collinsville, Illinois, is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT). Requirements

Current CVT credential required
Ideal minimum of 1 year of experience as a credentialed veterinary technician
Strong technical and anesthesia monitoring skills
Excellent communication and client education abilities
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Passion for compassionate, Fear Free patient care

Responsibilities

Performing patient assessments and obtaining medical histories
Safely restraining patients using Fear Free techniques
Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgical procedures
Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
Collecting laboratory samples and running in-house diagnostics
Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
Placing and maintaining intravenous catheters
Taking and positioning patients for digital radiographs
Educating clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans
Maintaining accurate medical records
Collaborating with veterinarians and the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care
