About The Position

The Animal Cardiology Center (TACC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician with an interest in specialty practice. TACC is New York City’s leading veterinary cardiology-only practice, serving dogs and cats with cutting-edge diagnostics and compassionate, personalized treatment. The practice operates in a state-of-the-art, collaborative environment with modern facilities. The Licensed Veterinary Technician is a vital member of the practice management team, responsible for leading and supervising, maintaining organization, professionalism, efficient communication, and effective collaboration with veterinarians and other team members. This role ensures the accurate, efficient, and timely completion of daily clinical duties and responsibilities, and facilitates communication between doctors, the practice manager, and clinical team members. In addition to traditional duties, the role involves advanced history taking, advanced imaging (including Echocardiograms), conducting physical examinations and patient assessments, rounding with doctors on cases, and providing compassionate patient care. There are opportunities for training under the Cardiologist and joining the mobile TACC team.

Requirements

  • Licensed in NY State
  • An affinity for animals
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong people and organizational skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university
  • Comfortable working with all types of animals
  • Ability to lift 40lbs
  • Capable of moving patients from carrier/floor to exam table
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise effectively
  • Maintain organization and professionalism
  • Act as an efficient communicator
  • Work well with veterinarians and other team members (clinical and administrative)
  • Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of daily clinical duties and responsibilities
  • Facilitate the flow of communication between doctors, the practice manager, and clinical team members
  • Perform all duties of a licensed veterinary technician
  • Participate in advanced history taking
  • Participate in advanced imaging, including Echocardiograms
  • Conduct physical examinations and patient assessments
  • Round with the doctor on cases using learned cardiology knowledge
  • Provide consistently compassionate care for patients
  • Train under the Cardiologist (for interested LVTs)
  • Join the mobile TACC team (for interested LVTs)
