About The Position
We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team full time! Staten Island Animal Hospital has been serving the communities of Staten Island since the early 1940’s. Our hospital is a full-service veterinary facility providing comprehensive medical and surgical services for each pet. Our hospital’s compassionate and expert medical team has years of experience in companion animal medicine, and they are dedicated to one thing: helping pets become well and stay healthy. Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
- NYS Vet tech license is required
- CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials
Responsibilities
- Support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
- Win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient.
- Utilize knowledge and skills in physical examinations and patient assessment.
- Perform anesthesia monitoring.
- Assist with surgical preparation.
- Perform dentistry.
- Assist with radiology.
- Conduct laboratory work.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Perform catheter placement.
- Manage pharmacy.
- Monitor patient recovery.
- Provide compassionate care of our hospitalized animals.
