About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful clinic. Schedule is 8AM to 6:30PM or 12PM to 10PM /4 Days per week. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. Requirements

• Licensed NY State Veterinary Technician
• 2 Year Minimum of Veterinary Technician Experience
• Knowledge of animal care and handling
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
• Patience and a love for animals
• A Team Player, excited to collaborate with others

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures
• Coordinating animal care
• Monitoring animal recovery
• Drawing blood
• Catheter placement minimizing patient discomfort
• Monitoring animals during surgery
• Keeping accurate records in surgery including drug sheet and anesthesia log
• Performing necessary diagnostics such as radiology and CT
• Monitoring post-surgical patients
• Taking vital signs and administering medications
• Filling medications
• Completing at-home dosage and discharge instructions for clients
• Maintaining and ordering inventory items
