About The Position

Valhalla Animal Hospital is a well-established veterinary medicine provider in southern New York with over thirty years of experience. They are dedicated to providing personal, loving care and have earned the highest customer satisfaction rating in the area. The hospital offers a high standard of service, support, and guidance to pet owners, focusing on building long-term relationships. They are expanding their team and seeking licensed veterinary technicians to work with, guide, and support their growing team of DVMs. Valhalla Animal Hospital is equipped with the latest innovations and medical capabilities, providing wellness, dentistry, surgical, and emergency care. Their clinic features an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology for diagnostics, and utilizes laser therapy for pain reduction and recovery. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, closed on Sundays.

Requirements

  • Actively Licensed Veterinary Technician, or license eligible in the state of NY
  • All levels of experience are encouraged to apply
  • If not holding an active NY LVT license, must be eligible for taking the VTNE as well as take and pass it within 3 months of hire
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Some Saturday availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Responsibilities
