Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Relief
About The Position
Excellent emergency, critical, and specialty care requires exceptional technical skills and a strong team approach. At Timberline, we believe veterinary technicians are our greatest asset. We are seeking Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to work with us on a relief or temporary basis to cover vacations for our staff, providing outstanding emergency and specialty care while helping build an engaged, supportive workplace. LVTs at Timberline work closely with veterinarians and teammates to deliver high-quality patient care for dogs, cats, and small exotic pets, while contributing to our culture of collaboration, engagement, and employee ownership.
Requirements
- Active WA State LVT license.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Growth mindset and desire to work in a teaching environment.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions
- Interest in working at least 2 shifts per month
Responsibilities
- Triage and pre-exam of incoming emergency patients (if working emergency shifts)
- Perform treatments and administer medications
- Fill prescriptions and perform laboratory testing
- Anesthetize and monitor patients for procedures as needed
- Monitor and care for critical and hospitalized patients
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Collaborate with attending doctors and team members
- Follow and support patient safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital environment for the next shift
- Support documentation, medical record accuracy, and upholding our PEAK Principles
Benefits
- Shift differentials apply for overnight and weekend shifts in addition to hourly rates.
- We do ask you do a 6 hour paid orientation shift prior to full shifts
