About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. This role acts as a liaison between internists and clients, handling patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates through various communication channels. The technician will also assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x-rays, and obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required for this position.

- Possess unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors
- Be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations
- Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures
- Fill prescriptions
- Take x rays
- Obtain lab samples
- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI)
- Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.)
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
- Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures
- Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway)
- Clean and maintain equipment following procedure
- Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations
