About The Position
Join East End Veterinary Center (EEVC) as a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician in Riverhead, NY. Our Veterinary Technicians provide advanced emergency and critical care while working alongside experienced veterinarians in a collaborative specialty animal hospital environment. EEVC is Suffolk County's ONLY VECCS Level 2 24-hour emergency/critical care and specialty veterinary hospital. Requirements
- Active CVT, LVT, or RVT credential (or license-eligible) in New York State
- Emergency, specialty, or critical care experience preferred
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
- Desire to continue learning and advancing veterinary nursing skills
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
Responsibilities
- Triage and assess emergency patients
- Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients
- Perform laboratory sample collection and testing
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Support anesthesia, sedation, and patient monitoring
- Communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture
- Provide exceptional patient and client care in a fast-paced emergency setting
