About The Position

Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is seeking a talented and motivated Surgery and Anesthesia Technician to join their rapidly growing surgical team. This role involves working with board-certified surgeons and a team of technicians and surgeons that foster a positive and engaged culture, providing high-quality patient care. Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting
Knowledge about specialty surgical procedures
Surgical assisting experience
Instrumentation knowledge
Ability to independently run up to level 5 ASA anesthesia cases
Veterinary Technician License required

Nice To Haves

VTS or an LVT on track to become a VTS in anesthesia
Background in training junior staff is desired
Independent, intelligent, patient-first techs with outstanding technical and critical thinking skills
Promotes a culture of teamwork, mentorship, willingness to learn, and positivity

Responsibilities

Place arterial and central lines, urinary catheters, and NG Tubes
Administering local and regional anesthesia
Perform critical care anesthesia to include mechanical ventilation and TIVA
Surgical preparation
Client interaction and education during initial consultations and dismissals
Bandage application and changes
Surgical assisting on cases including Orthopedics and Arthroscopy, Regular and complex soft tissue, Interventional radiology, and Oncologic.
