About The Position

Partner Veterinary is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician - Anesthesia to join their team in Richmond, VA. This role is crucial for providing anesthesia services across various departments, including CT scans, MRIs, and daytime emergency surgeries or procedures. The position emphasizes hypervigilance, communication, and collaboration, with a focus on creating drug protocols and anesthetic plans in coordination with specialists. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in anesthesia patient care, work with doctors who rely on anesthetic knowledge, and utilize advanced equipment in a safe and stress-free environment. The role also involves supporting the training of safe anesthesia practices for peers. This is a four 10-hour shift position that may include rotation or occasional weekend on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited veterinary technology program.
  • Veterinary technician "in good standing" so applicant is or eligible to transfer registration to Virginia.
  • Minimum 1-year veterinary technician experience.
  • Knowledge and dedication to high standard anesthesia and patient care practices.
  • Strong communication skills with clients and teammates; ability to collaborate with the teams across the Partner network.
  • A curious and motivated energy.
  • Ability to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance.

  • Veterinary specialty experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
