About The Position
The Licensed Veterinary Laboratory Technician works in a busy 24-hour emergency, specialty, and critical care veterinary practice in Syracuse, New York. The technician receives samples from all hospital departments and ensures timely, accurate results are returned to clinical teams. The role also includes maintaining laboratory inventory and safety, and assisting with patient discharges as needed. Multiple shifts and days are available, with flexibility and part-time or full-time hours possible. The practice offers incoming technicians a formal training and mentorship program, whether they are new graduates or experienced emergency and specialty technicians. Responsibilities
- Receive samples from all hospital departments and ensure timely and accurate results are returned to clinical teams.
- Maintain laboratory inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating supply needs, and removing outdated materials.
- Maintain a safe and clean laboratory by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist with patient discharges as needed.
