About The Position

PSG/CIP is seeking a part-time mental health therapist for its School-Based programs across West Allis/West Milwaukee District schools and Westosha and Walworth County schools. The therapist will work directly within schools to provide intervention, including individual and group therapy, education and consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed. The organization is a multi-service community-based social services organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost-effective, and innovative programming responsive to the needs of diverse communities. Candidates should have an interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting.

Requirements

Master's degree in clinical mental health, social work, psychology or other related field.
Licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin; LPC or LCSW.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of family systems.
Understanding of the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma.

Responsibilities

Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.
Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.
Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
