The Licensed Student Counselor will provide direct counseling services and case management to students, assist faculty with mental health questions, and develop and implement caseloads for at-risk students. This role involves responding to crisis situations, providing online counseling services, and maintaining confidential student records. Additionally, the counselor will review medical documentation for ADA/504 compliance and accommodations, educate faculty and staff on relevant regulations, and coordinate with the Title IX Coordinator to provide support services for students affected by sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The position also involves providing campus-wide awareness and training on disability rights, Title IX requirements, and available program resources, as well as facilitating partnerships with community providers and ensuring departmental compliance with various systems and laws. Additional duties include performing other assignments as required by supervisory staff to support the Counseling Department and Student Affairs division, and the ability to work in an office environment for extended periods, use a computer, conduct face-to-face and virtual counseling sessions, and attend meetings and training sessions as needed.
