About The Position

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massages and other body treatments to guests of our facility. The therapist should be able to create an environment of relaxation for the guests and provide experiences that create lasting memories for the guest. This role ensures the Franchise and Shaner Brand Standard and experience for guests, and adheres to policies of the facility, Franchise, and Shaner policies. The therapist performs massage and body services that meet the established guidelines for the type of service offering and that fulfill guest expectations, as well as all treatments on services menu based upon current licensure. The therapist assesses contraindications of guests that may prevent service from taking place and always meets the needs of the guest throughout the service. The therapist understands and uses universal precautions when providing services, cleans and disinfects all equipment, and maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered. The therapist understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests, answers guests’ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner, recommends products for home use, and suggests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa. The therapist ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures, informs Lead Therapist and Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs, and creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid state license in massage therapy or other credentials required by the state.
Minimum one year customer service experience.
Previous massage and body work experience.
Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
Must be able to build rapport with guest.
Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
Strong team player.

Nice To Haves

Previous spa experience preferred.
Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
