About The Position

The following position is an opening at Elgin Local Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year: Position: Licensed Social Worker. The LSW collaborates with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies to promote student well-being, improve attendance, address barriers to learning, and support academic success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related field, School Endorsement Preferred
• Appropriate State of Ohio Certifications/License
• Two years teaching or other related experience
• BCI/FBI Clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
• Assist students in developing coping skills, conflict-resolution skills, emotional regulation, and positive peer relationships.
• Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community agencies.
• Conduct parent conferences and provide resources to support student needs.
• Connect families with community services, including mental health, housing, food assistance, healthcare, and other support programs.
• Facilitate communication among students, families, school staff, and outside providers.
• Contribute social-developmental information for evaluations and educational planning.
• Support implementation of behavioral intervention plans and social-emotional learning initiatives.
