Licensed Social Worker / Licensed Professional Counselor
About The Position
PrimeCare Medical is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to join their medical department as a Behavioral Health Professional at the Lancaster County Prison in Lancaster, PA. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with various shift options and potential Saturday rotations. The role involves conducting clinical and risk assessments, managing inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm, serving as a liaison for external mental health services, facilitating hospital admissions, monitoring mental health services, and participating in quality assurance and training initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a LPC, LSW, or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Must hold a Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical course work, training and/or experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, including documentation of findings, mental status examination, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
- Make referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
- Conduct risk assessments utilizing structured interviews and risk assessment tools.
- Manage inmates at risk for suicide and/or engaging in self-harm utilizing existing protocols.
- Serve as the PrimeCare Medical (PCM) mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
- Facilitate admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
- Monitor all mental health services provided.
- Monitor clinical services to ensure standards of care are in accordance with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric/psychological standards.
- Be a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
- Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
- Collect data and prepare monthly reports reflecting performance.

- Annual Salary range is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00
- $2.00 per hour shift differential is offered for evening shift hours.
