About The Position

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Electrician for Fox Service Company. The role handles residential electrical work, including troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems while complying with safety standards and applicable codes. The electrician diagnoses problems, completes repairs or replacements, and communicates with homeowners about issues, options, and recommendations. The position also involves physical work in indoor and outdoor settings, including attics and crawlspaces, and requires effective customer service, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• TX Residential Wireman license or above.
• TDLR.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Positive attitude and commitment to high-quality work.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Adaptability, flexibility, creativity, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
• Over 2 years of electrical experience; residential experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, navigate tight spaces, drive, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, perform fine-detail work, and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in attics and crawlspaces and in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential electrical systems, identify issues, and perform repairs to restore functionality.
• Install, repair, and maintain wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical systems and components.
• Explain electrical problems to customers, present repair or replacement options, and provide recommendations.
• Perform basic wiring tasks, including installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and electrical accessories.
• Use and maintain tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
• Apply electrical codes and regulations to ensure work complies with local, state, and national standards and maintains job-site safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
