About The Position

Join the Department of Corrections (DOC) as a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections and lead essential psychological services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset. This role places you at the center of critical clinical decisions that support stability and responsible care within a secure facility. Requirements

• One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
• Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board.
• Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct psychological staff by overseeing evaluations, screenings, counseling, and crisis intervention
• Develop and integrate policies and procedures that guide psychological services and counseling programs
• Lead review teams responsible for mental health assessments and critical incident evaluations
• Evaluate diagnostic tests and prepare or review detailed reports on inmate mental health status
• Advise staff on treatment approaches and participate in meetings to review inmate adjustment and care plans
• Ensure compliance with standards and provide expert testimony when required
