About The Position

We are now hiring for a part-time Licensed Professional Counselor in Buckeye, Arizona for the 2026-2027 School Year! LEARN Academy (LEARN Academy® School Support Services and Education Network), a nationwide provider of special education services to schools, formerly Light Street Special Education Solutions, helps schools succeed by providing comprehensive special education programs and services. We partner with schools to improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to children with special needs. We offer an array of flexible solutions that are grounded in evidence-based practices and focused on achieving positive outcomes for our students and school partners. As a School Counselor at LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students. Your primary responsibility is to implement comprehensive counseling programs that enhance students' personal development and academic success. Your responsibilities span across various school settings, interacting with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care. You provide individualized guidance and support to help students navigate academic challenges, career planning, and personal issues.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in school counseling from an accredited program
  • Maintain state license/certification
  • School experience required
  • Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card
  • Applicants must be presently eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that align with students' needs and school goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success and well-being.
  • Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic goals for their future education and careers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate workshops and classroom lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, social emotional skills and college readiness.
  • Advocate for students' needs at IEP meetings and other student-focused discussions.
  • Refer families and students to external mental health resources when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
  • Stay current with best practices in school counseling through ongoing professional development.
