About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at the Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) on Mount Mary University (MMU) campus. The role involves maintaining an active caseload, contributing to policy development, and collaborating with various university units and the local community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to multicultural and social justice counseling competencies and possess excellent communication and multitasking skills. Requirements

  • Current licensure as an LPC in Wisconsin is required.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin in good standing.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional codes of ethics and best practices in multicultural and social justice competencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence; experience working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collegially in a collaborative team environment.
  • Outstanding verbal, writing, and presentation skills; must be able to communicate and interact effectively with MMU students, employees, and alum.
  • Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group processes, and foster collaborative decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • A counselor-first professional identity as evidenced via credentials and engagement with professional counseling organizations preferred.
  • Experience working in a university counseling center or with young adults, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active caseload.
  • Attend weekly clinic meetings.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to multicultural and social justice counseling competencies as evidenced in clinical work.
  • Provide leadership within a counseling clinic, including the ability to promote the CWC and develop partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders within the university and the local community.
  • Assist with development and oversight of CWC policies and procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance with legal and ethical issues.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned.
