About The Position

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) is seeking a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker for their new Surrey Street CHC in Lafayette, LA, opening in Fall 2026. This role involves providing safe, quality mental health care under the general supervision of the Medical Director, with additional oversight from a Contract or Staff Psychiatrist. The position requires the ability to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, and safety criteria for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The individual will be responsible for clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy/psycho-educational services, case coordination/management, discharge planning, and advocacy for mental health patients. Additionally, the role will address mental well-being and mental health promotion issues within the practice.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university program with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology for a LPC or Social Work for a LCSW.
  • Current State of Louisiana license as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Credentialing as a Clinical Social Worker and license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • Knowledge in clinical assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy/psycho-educational services, case coordination/management, arrange for discharge (discharge planning) care, and advocacy for mental health patients.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a primary mental health care setting/environment.
  • Experience providing psychosocial and psychological services to underserved populations.

Responsibilities
