About The Position

Inova Health – Cardiology is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to provide outpatient cardiology care. This is a full-time, day position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The LPN coordinates referrals and follow-up care, administers prescribed medications and treatments under direct physician supervision, supports the healthcare team, and maintains accurate patient records and care documentation.

Requirements

• Vocational/technical diploma in practical nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Two years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals for patients with chronic care conditions and arrange follow-up care according to the initial care plan from a specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administer prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies, and treatments according to practical nursing standards and under direct physician supervision.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
• Support healthcare team members in achieving team goals and assign appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintain and review patient medical records, notes, and physician orders.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.
