About The Position

Inova Neurology Clinic is hiring a full-time, day-shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to provide outpatient neurology care. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The nurse coordinates referrals and follow-up care, administers prescribed medications and treatments under direct physician supervision, communicates with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and maintains accurate patient records and documentation.

Requirements

• Vocational/technical diploma in Practical Nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Two years of nursing practice experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals for patients with chronic care conditions and follow-up care according to the initial care plan from a specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administer prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies, and treatments in accordance with practical nursing standards and under direct physician supervision.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
• Support healthcare team members in achieving team goals and assign appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintain and review patient medical records, notes, and physician orders.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.
