Licensed Practical Nurse PRN
About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse who is committed to providing high-quality care in an institutional setting. The role involves applying nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents and performing duties at a pace and level consistent with the position's requirements. The nurse attends sick call with the physician, prepares the list of inmates/residents to be examined, and prepares the examining room and equipment. The position also operates pill call, dispenses and documents medication, manages medical supplies and equipment, and maintains the security and confidentiality of medical records.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Hold a license in the state of employment.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
- Control and inventory medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medical records.
