About The Position

PrimeCare Medical is seeking dedicated, hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses to work in the medical department at the Berks County Youth Center in Leesport, Pennsylvania. The role provides comprehensive nursing care and performs duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Part-time day and evening shifts are available. The position includes a two-week orientation with on-the-job training and shadowing alongside nursing staff.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to function under supervision.
• Demonstrated clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records, ensuring they are secure.
• Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conduct sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observe, report, and document inmate/patient symptoms, reactions, and progress, and participate in formulating plans of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
