About The Position

UAMS is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Family Medical Center in Texarkana, Arkansas. The LPN will work closely with Resident Physicians to support exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations. Duties include preparing patients, assisting with clinical procedures and administrative tasks, and performing other duties that support patient care activities. The position requires a patient-centered approach and the ability to perform all duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• At least one year of clinical nursing experience.
• Current Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong clinical expertise and technique.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Oral, written, and persuasive communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and demonstrate personal credibility.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Working knowledge of computer equipment, applications, and office machines, including printers, fax machines, and scanners.
• Professional and courteous telephone etiquette.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Good working knowledge of the state immunization registry, care manager, PCMH, and care management.
• At least one year of work experience in pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Resident Physicians to support patient care and clinic operations.
• Prepare patients for care.
• Assist with clinical procedures.
• Perform administrative tasks.
• Perform Licensed Practical Nurse duties and other duties supporting patient care activities.
