About The Position

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and their families by assisting with preoperative, postoperative, and other relevant health teaching.
• Prepare and administer medications orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection; record dosage and administration time in patient records and maintain logs.
• Provide ancillary medical care, including dressing wounds; giving enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages; and applying compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles.
• Maintain patient stability by taking and recording vital signs.
• Support patient nutrition by checking food trays against prescribed diets, feeding patients, and recording food and fluid intake and output.
• Help patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, walking, and turning.
• Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to nursing supervisors.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, including keeping catheters, tracheostomy tubes, and oxygen supplies available.
