About The Position

PrimeCare Medical Inc. is seeking dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work in the medical department at the Berks County Jail System in Leesport, Pennsylvania. The role provides comprehensive nursing care and performs duties under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Available schedules include a full-time evening shift and a part-time night shift. The position includes a two-week orientation with on-the-job training and shadowing alongside nursing staff.

Requirements

Be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to function under supervision.
Demonstrate clinical competency.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Maintain, update, and use electronic medical records, ensuring they are secure.
Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Conduct sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmate/patients, and participate in formulating the plan of care.
Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
