About The Position
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a travel assignment in a Long Term Care / Nursing Home setting in Dubuque, Iowa. This position offers guaranteed hours and a competitive weekly pay rate. The contract is for several weeks, starting on 09/28/2026, with rotating schedules. This role is crucial in providing direct patient care and ensuring the well-being of residents in a long-term care environment.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Iowa (or eligible to obtain licensure in Iowa)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- LPN diploma from an approved program
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work in rotating shifts and adapt to a changing schedule
Nice To Haves
- Long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and delegation
- Monitor residents’ health status, document findings, and report changes to the supervising nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living and mobility to support comfort and safety
- Perform routine nursing procedures and basic wound care as directed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure charting is up-to-date
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure quality, safety, and continuity of care
