About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for implementing and maintaining established nursing objectives and standards, providing direct nursing care to residents, and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by CNAs. Requirements

  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess a current, unencipbered, active license to practice as an LPN in this state.
  • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by a physician, following facility protocols and under the supervision of an RN.
  • Perform wound care, including changing dressings and monitoring for signs of infection.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and mobility.
  • Ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration, assisting with feeding if necessary.
  • Record a patient's history and current condition.
  • Observe and document changes in a resident's condition, reporting any concerns to the RN.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work under the supervision of an RN, following their guidance and instructions.
  • Supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in providing basic nursing care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive comprehensive care.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, following infection control protocols and other safety guidelines.
  • Accurately document all care provided, including medications administered, vital signs, and any observations.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families.
