Requirements

Nursing School Graduate
Successful completion of a 30-hour approved IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF only.
Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years.
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

Provides and documents individualized patient care, including patient evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments, and patient safety as directed by the RN or provider.
Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment.
Communicates appropriate patient condition information to the RN and other healthcare team members.
Assists the RN or provider during examinations and procedures.
Documents patient data and patient education according to Orlando Health and department guidelines.
Performs triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining the next step in care, in collaboration with the department nursing team or provider(s).
Administers oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.
Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
Stays informed about changes in hospital policy, procedure, and equipment.
Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.
Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care for patients on the assigned unit.
Assesses data reflecting patient status and interprets information to identify patient needs relative to age-specific requirements, providing necessary care.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Practices efficient use of supplies.
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.
