The Clinical Supervisor role involves operational and clinical oversight, managing the daily activities of clinical staff within the department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or above.
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Current certification by one of the following agencies: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by NHA, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by NCCT.
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations including personnel supervision, compliance with policies, facility management, patient scheduling, and business reporting.
  • Participates in hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions for assigned team members.
  • Serves as a resource for leadership, including the Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations, and Operations Manager.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Operations Manager or Director of Nursing to ensure clinical quality and standardization.
  • Manages operations for efficient and cost-effective clinical services.
  • Schedules staffing to meet fluctuating workload demands.
  • Identifies training needs and facilitates development opportunities, including evaluating training, implementation, orientation, and participation in educational programs.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Recommends new or revised policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes medical records and documentation to identify problem areas.
  • Collaborates effectively with physicians and administrative staff.
  • Assists physicians with strategies for practice efficiency and growth.
  • Provides management reports to physicians and administration for review, practice planning, and marketing.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet development, and presentation skills.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills.
  • Provides department-level orientation to new team members, covering system software, telephone processes, office equipment, departmental policies, customer service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans.
  • Maintains regular attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and relevant laws.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Educates and supervises clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Provides necessary documentation related to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of data and information.
  • Functions as a member of the medical office management team.
  • Applies knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards.
  • Skilled in documentation of patient care, including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs other clinical tasks and duties as needed.
